As part of our learning about instructional language, we have come across the world of recipes and cooking. Here you can find 3 recipes: 1. For the famous shortbread English cookies, 2. for pizza ships and 3. for a giant jelly baby. They are very easy and quick to make, and by all means delicious! Try following the instructions given and enjoy the result!!!
Over the last few days, we have learnt about a new force called ‘friction’. It is the force (or in this case, resistance) between two surfaces that are in contact with one another. We have tested it in many different ways: trying to move Euro coins on salt, rolling and sliding rocks on different surfaces, testing the effect of oil on the level of friction…. See if you can think of any other examples where friction is making life easier or more difficult.
This week we have enjoyed making a WINDMILL and a TRUCK CRANE. Share the progress of the experiment with your parents and enjoy what your other classmates did!
What a fantastic celebration of the World Book Day! We had different activities throughout the day, we came dressed as our favourite book character and parents came to read us stories in the classroom. At the end, we also enjoyed some examples of Spanish traditional dishes. Thank you to all parents for sharing this special day with us!!!
Today was a day full of experiences!!! After leading this Thursday’s school assembly we left for a calligraphy workshop at MIA. The gentleman responsible for the department at the museum took us to a huge and very artistic room, where we could learn about ancient calligraphy forms by colouring them with the best markers we had ever seen!!!
Then, we were shown to the exhibition of the “Kings and Pawns: Board Games from India to Spain”. We could have never imagined that once chess figures were made of ivory or gold!!! A very knowledgeable lady told us many interesting anecdotes about this beautiful game that originated in India.
When we finished our tour in the Museum, we went for a light lunch to the children’s park outside. We had a great time!!!
