In grade 2 we collected water bottles as an initiative to reduce, reuse and recycle. We collected a total of 300 bottles.

This week we have learned about food decomposition and how it can be recycled into compost, to give nutrients to future plants. As a result of further inquiring into this process, we learned that the first thing that happens to fruits is that they lose their water, thus becoming dehydrated. And guess what!!!! we tried dehydrated fruit in the classroom and we loved it!!! We enjoyed raisins and apricots, but we will now try some more at home…
Today we went to see “Robin Hood” at the Qatar National Theatre. We had a great time and enjoyed the adaptation they made of the play. We had a fab time in the bus singing popular songs both in Spanish and English!! In the theatre main hall we could also see a huge family tree, which we linked to our former unit of inquiry about ‘Family Histories’.
As a summative assessment task, we created a song in out Unit of Inquiry on Languages. Mr Devin helped us initially in creating the melody and together with Miss Eva, Miss Teagan, Miss Carmen and Miss Mariam, we wrote lyrics in English, Spanish and Arabic. We hope you enjoy our performance!!!

In our current unit of inquiry, we learned how to write instructions. We found out that recipes are a good example of a step-by-step process and so we wrote some recipes about what we enjoy making at home. We then voted the preferred ones and here you are the results, in case you want to do some cooking.
