Thursday, March 27, 2014

Today was a day full of experiences!!! After leading this Thursday’s school assembly we left for a calligraphy workshop at MIA. The gentleman responsible for the department at the museum took us to a huge and very artistic room, where we could learn about ancient calligraphy forms by colouring them with the best markers we had ever seen!!!

Then, we were shown to the exhibition of the “Kings and Pawns: Board Games from India to Spain”. We could have never imagined that once chess figures were made of ivory or gold!!! A very knowledgeable lady told us many interesting anecdotes about this beautiful game that originated in India.

When we finished our tour in the Museum, we went for a light lunch to the children’s park outside. We had a great time!!!
