We enjoyed exploring Qatari boating, pearling, and fishing history.

It was a beautiful day for a boat ride!

Grade 2 enjoyed collectively writing and illustrating class books. Feel free to stop by and read them!
We also had MANY mystery readers come to our classes! Thank you to all parents who participated!
Today we had a fabulous parade with all Preschool and PYP students dressed up as our favourite book characters.
Thanks to everyone for continuously encouraging the love of books and celebrating the joys of reading!

Every student designed and built a car made of recycled materials.

Students then worked in groups to design and build ramps with different lengths and surfaces.

Everyone had to use what they learned about friction, gravity, and push forces to complete a challenge.

The challenges were: “Get the car to go from the top to the bottom of the ramp in 1-3 seconds, 4-7 seconds, or 8-10 seconds.”

Here are some pictures from our final trials.

Watch this amazing “eggs-periment” (experiment) and if you decide to try it at home, please share how it goes with the class!

During this unit about forces, we explored how gravity and wind work together to push kites through the air as we pull them.

We also experimented with different materials and compared how they effected the flights.

Some of our hypotheses were correct:  the lighter the kite, the better it will fly.

Other’s predicted that kites need to be heavy and strong to work best, and they tested their theories.

The results varied, but we all agreed it was the perfect windy day for kites! 🙂

Sports Day Activities!

We enjoyed expressing our pride in Qatar by dressing in Qatari clothes and colours!

We’ve been talking about empathy.  Enjoy singing along to this song!
