We have just finished a unit on the Earth and, as a result, have become more knowledgeable about its natural resources and how to conserve them.
Not too long ago, we were all shocked by the news about several earthquakes taking place in Nepal. While discussing this in the classroom, we agreed to take some action to help this affected area.
This last week, the grade 2 students sold lemonade and cookies in the school to other students and teachers. The money collected was to be sent to Nepal to support all the people affected by the earthquakes. A representative from RAF Foundation, who attended this fundraising event, thanked us for our generosity and collected the money at the end of it.
We feel very proud to have taken action to help so many people in need in Nepal at this moment.
