As part of our learning about instructional language, we have come across the world of recipes and cooking. Here you can find 3 recipes: 1. For the famous shortbread English cookies, 2. for pizza ships and 3. for a giant jelly baby. They are very easy and quick to make, and by all means delicious! Try following the instructions given and enjoy the result!!!

Over the last few days, we have learnt about a new force called ‘friction’. It is the force (or in this case, resistance) between two surfaces that are in contact with one another. We have tested it in many different ways: trying to move Euro coins on salt, rolling and sliding rocks on different surfaces, testing the effect of oil on the level of friction…. See if you can think of any other examples where friction is making life easier or more difficult.

 

This week we have enjoyed making a WINDMILL and a TRUCK CRANE. Share the progress of the experiment with your parents and enjoy what your other classmates did!

Here is the video we watched in class when talking about gravity. Try to spot Sir Isaac Newton and why he is related to Gravity!

We also learnt about Galileo. A man of science, who also did some research into gravity…
