Grade 2 students visited the Museum of Islamic Art. First, we toured some rooms to learn about Geometry in Islamic Art. After that, we participated in a Geometric Pattern Workshop where students learned that a circle is the mother of all shapes. We created our own symmetrical stars. It was a fun experience! Lastly, we walked around the museum looking for patterns and we drew them! Enjoy viewing our photos.

Our Arts Week celebration was a great experience for students to showcase all that they have learned during our first unit of inquiry about patterns. Students were proud to show their gymnastics routines that they created in P.E class, the parachute pattern from Music class and as well as the tie-dye skills they acquired in Art class. Students were very excited to have their parents celebrating Arts Week with them!
